This class will take place on Saturday 6th May 2017 in Rochford, Essex.

You will receive the address after purchasing the class.
This small class is suitable for beginners or refreshers.
You will learn the principles of block printing fabric. There is an opportunity to practice block printing from a pre carved selection to help you get a feel for the craft.
We will look at inspiration for printing, find and prepare an image for carving.
You will learn how to transfer an image to carve and some carving techniques.
Then you’ll learn how to ink up your block, do some test prints and then print a simple fabric sample piece using a speciality padded printing table.
You’ll be able to choose to print a tea towel, a handkerchief, a bag or bring your own piece. Untreated light coloured cotton items are best. For example – a pillowcase or scarf.
The soft drinks counter will be open for you to help yourself during the class.
The shop will open at the end of class if you wish to purchase some basic printmaking equipment.
